Hello. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Brian Cronin.
I am an environmentalist. I have been a founding member of California’s Green Party and while have yet to vote for a Green Party candidate, I am in truth a single issue voter.
I am an amateur urban planner, which is the reason why I began this blog. Since my first trip to New York as I child I was curious why cities developed they way they did. I spent hours on the floor looking at the Atlas, and eventual began making the pencil marks on the paper that sketched out the new roads, bridges, trains and parks that I could see in my mind.
Now, some 30 years later I thought to come out of the urban planning closet. I hope to add something meaningful to the discourse.
Professionally, I am a digital product designer. Shortly after buying my first computer (back in the mid-1990s), a PowerBook 500, I started making web sites for Netscape 1.1N. Today I have more than 15 years experience creating digital products for the Web, large enterprises, mobile devices and tablet computers.
I have work as the Director of Program Planning at Hot Studio and was previously at Adaptive Path. I have been a Managing Principal of my own small design consulting agency, a Manager in a large systems integrator, and Executive Producer of Web 1.0 Studio. For more of these exciting details you can check out my profile on LinkedIn. You can also follow me on Twitter.
